NYC happens to be an awesomely dog friendly city. If you walk down the street, you'll see people dining outside with their canine friends in tow. Here are some of my favorite places as well as some tips on how to take advantage of the dog friendly city that never sleeps.
1. Always call to check to make sure that the place is dog friendly before you go. Ask about any rules that you should be aware of.
2. Make sure your dog is on a leash at all times unless the rules allow otherwise.
3. Bring water and some treats or a bone to keep your dog occupied. Especially if you are dining outside.
4. MTA/Travel: Some cabs allow dogs. It depends on the driver. The rule on the subway is that your dog must be in a carrier or purse at all times.
